Description
Univ of Michigan is seeking a LEO Lecturer I -Visiting Lecturer Instructor of Private Voice in the Department of Musical Theatre.
Duties: 1 Year Term.Teach Applied Voice to in coming first-year Musical Theatre BFA Performance Majors through private studio instruction. All lessons for first-year students are 30 minutes in length. Load is approximately 12 hours per week and includes one 90 minute studio a week with all students together. Lessons must be tailored to individuals of varied vocal experience and background.
Required Qualifications*
Qualifications:Specialized training and/or certificationin both classical and contemporary Voice Pedagogy, documented history of collaboration with co-workersand/or faculty members; knowledge of the classical and current musical theatre canon;ability to teach vocal skills that prepare students for the professional stage and that closely aligns to the overall mission of the U-M School of Music, Theatre & Dance and the department of Musical Theatre, as stated above; demonstrated ability to empower, advocate for, and value a broad range of students of diverse identities and experiences, as shown through pedagogy, mentoring, and related activities. Master’s of Music, Master’s of Vocal Pedagogy, or equivalent training/specialization in Musical Theatre Voice.
