The Wetumpka Depot Players announce auditions for their upcoming production of BIG FISH, directed by Kristy Meanor, music directed by Randy Foster, and choreographed by Daniel Harms.

Auditions are Sunday July 18& Tuesday July 20 7pm

With music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, and a book by John August, Big Fish – Small Cast Edition is the new, small-cast version (for 12-actors) of the Broadway musical. Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, Big Fish tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest… and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him – most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. Overflowing with heart, humor and spectacular stagecraft, Big Fish is an extraordinary Broadway musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre – for an experience that’s richer, funnier and BIGGER than life.

The Depot values diversity on our stages and in our many programs and encourage artists and volunteers of all types, ages, ethnicities, genders, and people with disabilities to participate.

Please prepare 16 bars of a standard musical theatre piece and be prepared with another 16 bars of a contrasting style musical theatre piece, I.e. one ballad and one up tempo. Be sure the pieces demonstrate voice range appropriate to character.
