The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” announces a vacancy for TENOR VOCALIST with the U.S. Army Voices.
The U.S. Army Voices provide musical support to the nation’s leadership and entertain a wide variety of audiences with the full breadth of classical and popular music, from the intimate setting of a State Dinner, to the floor show of international military tattoos, and the grand stage of major concert halls around the world.
A bachelor’s degree in music is preferred as the position requires superior musicianship. This tenor will sing the highest male part-and the lowest alto part when needed-in mixed ensemble literature. Group members are often needed as soloists with the Concert Band, Army Strings, Army Blues and the Army Chorus.
Applicants must demonstrate strong, versatile abilities in the following areas:
Solo and ensemble performance
Proficiency in varied musical styles
Disciplined, self-directed preparation in learning and executing music quickly.
Auditions will be held Nov 2. Auditions will be held at Brucker Hall, home of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” at 400 McNair Road, Fort Myer, Virginia 22211-1306.
