Description

Oper Oder Spree offers young singers who already have stage experience to take on roles in the annual opera production. The intensive rehearsal phases with workshop character as well as the high musical quality offer diverse opportunities to gain stage practice and stage experience under optimal conditions and in cooperation with an experienced director and conductor.

In the summer of 2021, Gaetano Donizetti's "Der Liebestrank" will be staged in a musical adaptation by Wolfgang Böhmer for the Oper Oder Spree music theater festival. We are looking for three singers for the cast. Students or graduates can apply, but also freelance singers.

Applications in German must be accompanied by a curriculum vitae and a list of previous stage experience. A sound sample and a portrait or theater photo are also required.

The deadline for applications is 17.01.2021. The audition will take place on 06 February. Invitations for the audition will be sent by 01/27/2021. The location of the audition will be announced with the invitation.

Two arias from the own repertoire should be auditioned. One of the two pieces should be in German.

The following roles are to be filled:

• Belcore - lyric baritone

• Dulcamara - lyric bass

• Gianetta - soprano/soubrette

Audition:

Requirements:

- Performance of two arias.

- One of the two pieces in German.

- German language skills are desirable, at least sound knowledge of German pronunciation.

Rehearsals:

1st rehearsal phase: 08 March 2021 - 01 April 2021.

2nd rehearsal phase: June 21, 2021 - July 08, 2021

Dress rehearsal Neuzelle: 07 July 2021

Dress rehearsal Beeskow: 22 July 2021

Performances:

08 July 2021 20.00 premiere in Neuzelle (further performances: 09.07. 20.00; 10.07. 20.00; 11.07. 16.00; 15.07. 20.00; 16.07. 20.00; 17.07. 20.00)

July 23, 2021 8:00 p.m. premiere in Beeskow (additional performances 07/24 8:00 p.m. & 07/25 4:00 p.m.)

Scholarship:

Participants will receive a stipend for rehearsals and performances in the amount of 3,000 EUR incl. VAT. Travel and travel expenses will not be reimbursed.

Accommodation:

Accommodation during rehearsals and performances will be provided in simply furnished rooms at the respective rehearsal location. A lump sum for meals will be paid.

In addition, a version for children entitled "Der kleine Liebestrank" (The Little Love Potion) is being prepared in the course of the Oper Oder Spree music theater festival. This is a play version (approx. 40 - 50 minutes) for accordion with two singers in German dialogues in an arrangement by Lars Franke and Dirk Rave.

Nemorino - Tenor

Adapted part Belcore/Dulcamara - bass-baritone

Two arias from the own repertoire should be sung. One of the two pieces should be in German. In addition, a short German spoken text (approx. 3 minutes; poetry, prose or spoken text from musical theater repertoire) should be prepared.
