The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater

The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater is pleased to announce auditions for Forever Plaid!

Auditions will be held by video submission only. Specific details regarding video submission are below. Videos must be received no later than 11:59pm on Monday, July 28, 2025 to be considered for callbacks.

On their way to the biggest gig of their careers, four hopeful singers' lives are cut short by a sudden bus crash—only to return from the afterlife for one last shot at the spotlight. Bursting with 1950s classics, sharp suits, and heartfelt hilarity, Forever Plaid is a nostalgic, laugh-filled celebration of second chances.

Begin with a slate: state your full name in a full-body shot.

Perform a 90-second song cut in the style of the show (not necessarily from the show) in a waist-up or shoulders-up shot

Choose a song that reflects the character that best fits you—refer to the Character Breakdown below for guidance.

All characters in the show sing both lead and harmony vocals. The ability to sing and hold harmonies is required and will be tested at callbacks, along with acting and movement abilities.

Please submit your video as an open-access YouTube link or non-restricted Google Drive link. Multiple members of the creative team will be reviewing submissions, so links that don’t require special permissions are preferred and appreciated.

Once your video is complete, fill out the audition form—including a link to your recording—no later than 11:59 PM on Monday, July 28, 2025, to be considered for callbacks.

CALLBACKS -

Callbacks will be held in-person and are scheduled for Saturday, August 9, 2025. Callbacks will be by invitation only.

REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCES -

Rehearsals will begin on or around October 20, 2025.

Forever Plaid runs January 19 - April 4, 2026.
