Description

The University of Louisville School of Music seeks a candidate with expertise in Choral Conducting to serve as lecturer and choral conductor of the UofL Singing Cardsmen. Singing Cardsmen is a men's choral outreach ensemble, with an emphasis on being engaged on the UofL campus and in our Louisville Metro community. As a Recognized Student Organization (RSO) and a School of Music choral ensemble, the Singing Cardsmen is open to all University students. The position is a limited part-time appointment and offers no benefits package.

Primary responsibilities for the position include: teaching and conducting the choral ensemble in 2-3 rehearsals per week, selection of repertoire, participation in concert performances, and recruitment and retention of members. Additionally, this role will be expected to work with senior leadership of the UofL Choral Department and elected ensemble officers to discuss opportunities for performances/service, and be available to schedule meetings with the RSO Board in an effort to foster an open and continuous conversation regarding the needs of the group.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Choral Conducting, experience teaching and conducting in a university choral ensemble setting.
