East Texas Baptist University seeks a qualified individual to provide instruction in and coordination of the vocal studies program in the Department of Music and Theatre Arts. The position begins in August 2022 and assignments will include applied voice, musical theatre direction, vocal diction, vocal pedagogy, and related courses. The position will also include participation in departmental meetings and review, contribution to curriculum development, and student advising duties. Additional teaching assignments within the music discipline will be given per the successful candidate’s interest and expertise.
The Vocal Coordinator will assume responsibility for the assigning of voice studios to full-time and part-time voice faculty, ensuring consistent standards across all studios, recruiting, public relations, and provision of academic advising for music students.
ETBU seeks a qualified individual with a graduate degree in Music. Candidates should have professional experience and a record of professional involvement. Candidates must have a strong commitment to academic scholarship and teaching, as well as the ability to communicate well with students and colleagues. Candidates must possess an appreciation and commitment to teach in Christian higher education through the integration of biblical faith and learning. Candidates must demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Faculty must live lifestyles consistent with the University’s biblical standards of morality, temperance, stewardship, as well as membership and active participation in the faculty members’ local Christian church. ETBU faculty are required to participate in the life of the University via faculty/department/school meetings, University Chapel services, prayer emphases, discipleship group studies, committee participation, local community ministry involvement, and attendance at campus activities and events
