Description
The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Department of Music invites applications for an Adjunct Artist-Teacher of Choral Conducting to serve as the Assistant Director of Choral Activities. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate-level courses in conducting and choral literature, direct a choral ensemble, and assist with recruitment for the Department of Music beginning during the week of August 29, 2022.
Qualifications:
* MM or DMA degree in Choral Conducting.
* A proven record of at least two years of successful collegiate-level conducting (preferred) or commensurate experience, including as a TA.
* A proven record of successful teaching of conducting at the collegiate-level (preferred) or commensurate experience, including as a TA.
* Experience with planning, programming, and conducting choral concerts.
* Piano skills commensurate with basic accompanying, choral warm-ups, and sectionals.
* The availability and commitment to teach regularly on Mondays and Thursdays during the 14-week semester on TCNJ’s campus (Ewing, NJ).
* Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and collaborative skills, including timely communications in writing.
A demonstrable record and strong commitment for student recruitment in and beyond the region is desirable, as is involvement in professional organizations such as ACDA, Chorus America and/or NAfME.
