SPECIAL AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Bring a performing résumé if you have one (not required). This is an "open call" audition. Non-Equity, NO PAY.

ALL CAST AND CREW MUST BE VACCINATED FOR COVID-19

(Please have proof of vaccination at audition check-in)

Those under 12 may submit a video audition to casting@highstreetartscenter.com, AND fill out the PRE-REGISTRATION: https://bit.ly/MatildaReg They will still need to be vaccinated within the CDC/FDA guidelines, as soon as the vaccine is approved for 5-11. If a cast member does not remain within guidelines, we will replace and recast that role.

Audition Info:

Please prepare one (1) minute of a standard musical theatre song and bring an alternate selection as a backup (in some cases, the casting team may wish to hear more). Do not sing a song from the show. Do not sing a cappella.

Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. A CD with an accompaniment-only track is also acceptable, provided it is edited and cued correctly, and saved locally. Digital audio devices, MP3 players and phones can also be used, provided they have a standard audio headphone jack or an iPhone lightning jack. (Please, no YouTube recordings or anything that relies on a wireless signal).

Although not all roles require dance, a short dance routine will be taught at the initial audition in order to assess ability; please bring dance shoes if you have them.

There will be cold readings from the script.

When auditioning, please list any and all commitments and/or conflicts during the rehearsal period - even on days not currently listed as rehearsal days. To the greatest extent possible, the schedule will be built around the cast's availability. No additional conflicts will be accepted after casting, and no conflicts will be accepted for performance dates or the week before opening. The only way we would consider performance conflicts would be if we were to double-cast a role; this is not currently the intent, but it is not impossible. Please just be upfront with us, and we will afford you the same courtesy.

To schedule an audition appointment. Pre-registering is highly encouraged; however, you may also audition without an appointment by showing prior to 7:00 on any particular audition day.
