Job Description

Teach/direct five curricular choirs: Concert & Chamber Choirs, Show Choir, Men’s & Women’s Ensembles rehearsals. Teach/direct weekly evening SWI Chorale community choir rehearsal

Oversee weekly lab classes with the band director for all students taking applied lessons. Organize and direct any student performances. Take attendance for every class period and submit grades on time. Recruit and advises students for Music AA degree requirements; advise all students about music ensemble participation. Plan and participate in music department events as needed. Collaborate with the Musical Theater department on productions, tasks, and projects. Complete assigned college tasks. Work with the department chair and Dean to recruit and mentor adjunct faculty. Maintain constant contact with Music Department Chair and Dean of Communication/Fine Arts about general happenings of the program. Demonstrate content knowledge, planning, and preparation for instruction, ability to monitor student learning, and manage a classroom.

Required Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Vocal Music OR Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Music AND 5+ years of secondary vocal music teaching experience

Ability to pass a background check
