Woodland Opera House

Open auditions for Dear Edwina will be held on Sunday, June 5 & Monday, June 6, 2022 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Woodland Opera House 4th Street Studio – 415 4th Street, Woodland 95695.

No appointment is necessary.

Callbacks (if necessary) will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the 4th Street Studio.

What to Prepare: Please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song demonstrating vocal range and storytelling capabilities. Much of Dear Edwina is told in song; so we are seeking both young and “young at heart” performers who can tell a good story through song and movement. Dress comfortably, as a short choreography audition will be taught; and lastly, please be prepared to read from the show. Script excerpts will be provided to you at the audition.

Age Restrictions: The following characters are typically played by adult actors. (A la You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Junie B. Jones.) You must be at least 11 years of age or older to audition for Dear Edwina. All roles available.

What else to Bring: A list of conflicts for all rehearsals. While minimal conflicts will be considered; please note, they may affect casting. Beginning the week of August 28 – no conflicts will be honored. All cast members must be available for ALL of tech week and ALL performances, no exceptions.

Performance Dates & Times: September 9 – 18, 2022. Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays & Sundays at 2:00 p.m. There will be two School Outreach performances on Thursday, September 15 at 8:30 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. Strike will be held immediately following the closing performance on September 18th and is mandatory for all cast members. If you have a conflict on the weekend, please be sure to note that information on your conflict sheet.

Rehearsals will begin Sunday, July 17th, and you will receive a full schedule at this time. Rehearsal location: July 17 – August 14 at the 4th Street Studio (415 4th Street, Woodland), on August 15 – Opening at the WOH Theatre (340 Second Street, Woodland). Tech rehearsal: September 4th from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m.
