Cherokee Symphony’s “Young Artists” Auditions

The Cherokee Symphony Orchestra’s “Young Artists” Concert is scheduled for Sunday, May 1, 2022. The concert will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the Cherokee Community Center, Cherokee, Iowa.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 in the Cherokee Community Center beginning at 1:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the auditions will be held on Saturday, February 19 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Applications must be received no later than February 5, 2022.

Auditions are open to all students through college who have not reached their 25th birthday. Auditions are open to the public. A visual recording may be submitted if approved in advance with the conductor.

Instrumentalists must perform on an accepted orchestral instrument, combination of instruments, or piano. More than one movement may be performed not exceeding 15 total minutes for the multiple movements combined.

Vocalists must sing an opera/operetta aria or a concert selection with a published orchestra accompaniment. Vocalists may sing more than one composition.
