The Univ of Michigan is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track Faculty Position, Department of Voice and Opera.

QUALIFICATIONS: Soprano and/or Mezzo-soprano preferred. We welcome applications from candidates who bring innovative approaches to the changing arts landscape, and knowledge of the professional vocal arts field as it exists today. A thorough knowledge of opera, oratorio, art song, and concert literature and an interest in contributing to a vibrant vocal arts program dedicated to the overall development of today’s multifaceted vocal artists are essential. Applicants must demonstrate expertise and experience in teaching by having presented master classes, maintained private studios, and/or served as faculty members at institutions of higher learning. The candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to empower, advocate for, and value a broad range of students, as shown through pedagogy, mentoring, and related activities. Applicants should have demonstrated success as a performer, and a trajectory that promises continued activity at a high level in the profession. Applicants should be ready to contribute to a cohesive departmental vision and strategy that closely aligns with the overall mission of the U-M School of Music, Theatre & Dance, and the U-M Department of Voice & Opera.
