The Department of Fine Arts is currently seeking an Adjunct Music professor for private Applied lessons in voice.

The applicant must have at least a Master of Music degree, be willing to teach face to face, but understands that they might be asked to also teach this course remotely.

The major in Music develops performance skills through applied lessons, directed coursework, and ensemble and stage experience. This is complemented by studies in the Liberal Arts.

Music majors are given professional training and musical skills with an emphasis on performance. The program encourages individual growth, nurtures leadership qualities, and provides many and varied opportunities for the student to perform from the first year of study through graduation. The program’s small classes increase the potential for performance opportunities, leadership qualities, and musical growth.

Qualifications/Requirements

A Master's degree in Music is required.

1-3 years of work related experience is required.

Comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.

Needs to be able to use CANVAS.

Create a unified, comprehensive syllabus with major topics, quizzes, due dates and exams etc.

Ability to deliver material in a clear and effective manor in a way that students are able to grasp and comprehend.

Ability to create, administer and evaluate exams, papers and/or projects.

Decisions generally affect own position or specific functional area.

Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.

Results are defined and existing practices are used as guidelines to determine specific work methods and carries out work activities independently; supervisor/manager is available to resolve problems.
