Trondheim Vocal Ensemble is seeking two tenors on 60% job share

Responsibilities will include, inter alia:

• -A capella singing.

• Participation in services and concerts in Nidaros Cathedral.

• Participation in Trondheim Symphony Orchestra’s opera and concert productions.

• Evening and weekend work, as well as work during church holidays, including Christmas and Easter, must be expected.

We expect:

• -Professionalism.

• The ability to perform with a short rehearsal time.

• Sufficient language comprehension to be able to perform a Norwegian/Nordic repertoire.

• That you participate, musically and socially, in a small ensemble and understand what is expected of an ensemble singer.

Auditions will be held in Trondheim on November 3 and 4, 2020.

Selected candidates will be invited to audition on the basis of their CV and audio files. The audio files must be MP3s or a link to YouTube, and can be no longer than seven minutes.

Please prepare two pieces, one operatic and one oratorio aria, for the audition’s first part. Sheet music in pdf format must be attached to the application alongside sound file and CV.

Score on mandatory choir tasks will be sent out one week prior to the actual audition. You will also be auditioned in prima vista and ensemble singing. The entire audition will be completed in one day for the individual candidate.

We provide accompanist.

Travel expenses are not covered.

Accession August 1 2021, or by appointment.

In the event of employment, the new employee will enter into the contract period of which the permanent singers are a part. The current contracts expire on 31 March 2022. Contracted singers have priority in the event of an extension. Based on stable funding from the Norwegian Cultural Council, Trøndelag County Municipality and Trondheim Municipality since 2015, we expect funding beyond 2022.
