The Programs in Theater and Music Theater at Princeton University are seeking a music theatre artist-educator for a one-year, potentially renewable full-time lecturer position with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2022. Applicants might identify as composers, lyricists, librettists, performers, directors, choreographers, and/or music directors at any stage of their careers. The successful candidate will have expertise and experience in new music theater and/or non-Western traditions and be excited to expand students' music theatre education.

Our program is dedicated to combining scholarship and public engagement with theatre making and production. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the program including advising students on their thesis production work.

The Programs in Theater and Music Theater are certificate programs (a "minor" as opposed to a "major") within the liberal arts context. We are committed to using theater as a lens to explore the world in a liberal arts context; teaching to theater's future rather than to the existing theatrical profession.

Responsibilities include:

*Teaching four classes a year (2 per semester)

*Mentoring student production(s)

*Participating in student driven season selection process

*Participating in regular running of the Theater and Music Theater programs

*Serving on Theater, Music Theater, and Lewis Center committees

Essential Qualifications

*Teaching experience

*Extensive experience as a music theater practitioner

*Expertise and experience with new music theater and/or non-Western music theater traditions

*Curiosity and a collaborative spirit
