The Juilliard Drama Division is seeking a teacher of singing to join a faculty dedicated to meeting the needs of a diverse student body as they prepare to enter the field as actors. Training in this area is designed to help students release their voices and find deeper expressivity and truth through singing. Candidates should have a strong familiarity with 20th century and current musical theatre as well as other contemporary and traditional genres. (Note: this is not a position in Juilliard’s Vocal Arts Department which focuses on classical singing.)

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years teaching experience working with actors on Singing

• Commitment to principles of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, and experience with the application of these principles in a diverse classroom community

• Ability to support both college-age and graduate level students

• Capacity to engage in confidential conversations with sensitivity

• Possession of a spirit of generosity and commitment to artistic integrity and student development

• Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent professional experience

• The successful candidate must be able to work well with all levels of employees, be flexible in nature, have sound judgment with an open and collaborative style that encourages teamwork and cooperation beyond the immediate team to the broader organization

• Ability to work with a wide range of constituencies (staff, students, faculty, and administrators) with diplomacy and tact
