Cleveland Orchestra

The Cleveland Orchestra Chorus will be holding mid-season auditions on Saturday, February 12. We are looking for a few more singers in every section to finish the season (specifically, for Verdi’s opera Otello). While the COC is currently on pause for in-person rehearsals, we do expect to return around mid-February. If you do not wish to be considered for the current season, but for summer 2022 or the 22-23 season, please do not schedule an audition at this time. Auditions for next season will be open in May, and will be announced in late February.

February auditions will require the following:

Sing two solo prepared pieces. Repertoire may be art song, aria, or Broadway. At least one of the two prepared solos must be in French, German or Italian.

An accompanist will be provided. Solos do NOT need to be memorized, but must have piano accompaniment (no a cappella singing).

We continue to take guidance from medical experts addressing the unique risks of singing in close physical proximity to others. In order to support our safe return to the stage all chorus members are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. As such, auditionees will also be required to provide proof of vaccination upon scheduling their audition appointment.
