The Programs in Theater and Music Theater and the Department of Music seek a music director and choral leader who is motivated by the opportunity to support positive musical experiences for musical theater singers and musicians. The successful candidate will have expertise and experience in new music theater and/or non-Western traditions and be excited to expand students' music theater repertoire. This person will serve as a bridge between the Department of Music and the Programs in Theater and Music Theater in the Lewis Center for the Arts.

This position is a full-time, one-year, potentially renewable lecturer appointment between the Lewis Center for the Arts and the Department of Music.

Responsibilities may include any of the following:

*Direct 3 ensembles:

- The Playhouse Choir, which is a community of singers in various ensemble configurations

- Direct the Trenton Youth Singers, a relatively new youth choir housed in Trenton Arts at Princeton that is composed of Trenton middle and high school students and Princeton student volunteers

- Musician-based music ensemble exploring music theater repertoire

*Teach at least one course a year, according to the candidate's interest and departmental need

*Mentor music directors for Theater and Music Theater Program musicals

*Other activities, such as accompanying classes and serving as music director on Theater and Music Theater Program productions, according to the candidate's interests

*Other projects according to the candidate's interests and departmental need

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

*Advanced degree in applicable discipline or equivalent professional experience

*Teaching or mentorship experience

*Excellent keyboard skills, including experience in accompaniment and coaching

*Knowledge of music theater field

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience

*Experience as a Music Director in music theater

*Experience in vocal instruction or pedagogy
