The East Tennessee State University Department of Music is seeking an adjunct Contemporary Vocal Studies (Applied Voice/Choral Conducting) to begin in the fall 2022 semester.

Responsibilities include:

* Conduct an auditioned contemporary vocal a cappella ensemble that performs both jazz and pop vocal styles

* Teach applied vocal lessons to Contemporary Performance majors and other vocal students as assigned

* Work closely with the Director of Choral Activities and the Director of Vocal Studies to plan the performance season.

* Experience participating in the ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A Capella) is preferred, but not required

Qualifications for this position include:

* Minimum of earned master’s degree in Contemporary (or equivalent) Performance.

* Evidence of successful studio teaching at the secondary and/or collegiate level.

* Evidence of ongoing performance as a professional musician

* A strong desire to build diverse, inclusive, and welcoming learning environments for students

* The ability to work with other faculty in a collegial and professional manner

* Interest in building relationships with community arts organizations, professional musicians, and other ensembles in the region/state.
