Les Arts Florissants is pleased to announce the call for applications for the 11th edition of the Jardin des Voix!

The Jardin des Voix is a biennial academy designed to support young opera singers at the start of their careers, under the direction of conductors William Christie and Paul Agnew. Since its creation in 2002, the Jardin des Voix has established itself as a formidable incubator for talent, enabling a new generation of baroque performers, including Marc Mauillon, Sonya Yoncheva, Emmanuelle de Negri, Christophe Dumaux and Lea Desandre, to perform on the world’s biggest stages.

For the 11th edition, the winners will be invited to work on the opera, The Fairy Queen, by Henry Purcell, during a three-week residency in Thiré (Vendée, Pays de la Loire), followed by a preview performance at the festival, Dans les Jardins de William Christie, in 2023. An international tour during the 2023-24 season, with Les Arts Florissants, under the alternate direction of William Christie and Paul Agnew, will then be launched.

Auditions

3 audition sessions:

• Paris: from May 24 to June 1, 2022

• New York: February 25-27, 2022

• London: March 12-16, 2022

ELIGIBILITY:

The Jardin des Voix is open to students and graduates of specialized higher education establishments (or of an equivalent level).

Applicants must be aged 30 or younger as of December 31, 2023.
