Jerusalem Lyric Opera Studio Summer Program
Description
Program dates: July 1st, 2024 - July 24th, 2024
Auditions
To submit your application to the Summer Program, GO to website and fill out the application form. Please indicate for which role(s) you wish to be considered or Opera Studio Apprentice Position. You will receive an email confirming your application and giving you instructions related to your audition.

RECORDED AUDITION
For the recorded audition, submit a link to a YouTube video of your audition in the application form. (The professional recording is preferable) You should submit an audition video with piano accompaniment or with orchestra.
NOTE: There is no deadline for the recorded auditions, but early applying is recommended for early casting. The number of participants is limited.
Audition results
The audition result letter is sent out regardless the result. The casting usually starts from January and finishing in April. In special cases, this may take longer. We appreciate your patience and asks to give notice us about changes in your plans to participate in the summer program.

Audition requirements
Please prepare two contrasting arias of your choice (one in Italian). Applicants who would like to be considered for roles in opera productions should submit the following materials:

Each applicant must prepare for the audition:
The arias and extracts of the chosen role from "Giulio Cesare in Egitto" by G.F.Handel. The reference edition will be Barenreiter Edition
All the arias and extracts must be performed from memory. Each participant can prepare more than a role. Roles to be chosen

A messenger (Tenore) - 2 arias of your own choice by G.Verdi
Voice of the High Priestess (Soprano) - 2 arias of your own choice by G.Verdi
V.Bellini I Capuleti e I Montecchi
Each applicant must prepare for the audition:

All the arias and extracts must be performed from memory. Each participant can prepare more than a role. Roles to be chosen
Giulietta (Soprano) - Aria "Eccomi..., Oh, quante volte!"
Romeo (Mezzo-soprano) - Aria,"Se Romeo t`uccise un figlio"
Tebaldo (Tenore) - Aria "È serbata a questo acciaro"
Capellio (Bass) - 2 arias of your own choice by V.Bellini/G.Donizetti or G.Verdi
Lorenzo (Bass) - 2 arias of your own choice by V.Bellini/G.Donizetti or G.Verdi
Application Fee & Tuition
The summer program is supported and subsidized by the Jerusalem Municipality and the Ministry of Culture and Sport in Israel, which allows to keep a lower price of tuition than other similar programs in Israel and Europe.
Application Fee for recorded auditions 40€
Application Fee for live auditions 25€ (100 NIS)
Participants chosen to perform solo roles in the mainstage festival productions, understudy major and substantial roles, and participate in all training opportunities pay 1500€ towards tuition fees.
Participants chosen to participate in the program with a strong training element and perform in the ensemble with the possibility to perform appropriate roles and understudy roles pay 1,250 € towards tuition fees.
All tuition deposits are non-refundable under any circumstances
Scholarships
The limited number of partial and full scholarships are available for participants demonstrating a high abilities and a particular needs. In special cases, the Summer Program covers the flying expenses and accommodation.
To apply for the scholarship, please include a brief explanation of your request at the time of your filling an application form.
Accommodation
The accommodation is not included in the tuition price and not provided by summer program. The participant must choose to supply their own housing.
