The Department of Conducting, Organ and Sacred Music at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of Choral Conducting for the Spring beginning February 1, 2021. This position is to teach CR 641 B – Conducting Primary. Projected enrollment is 3-4 students. This position requires teaching weekly 30-minute private lessons to graduate choral conducting students. For spring 2021, the teaching modality may be remote or hybrid using ZOOM.
A minimum of 5 years teaching Choral conducting at the university level. Demonstrated ability to teach private conducting lessons to graduate choral conducting majors at the university level. Experience as a professional choral conductor at the university level. Knowledge of the choral canon from all periods and all styles. Ability to select and sequence appropriate literature for instruction. Experience conducting varied choral repertoire of all styles from all significant periods of western musical history.
