Chapman University seeks applications for the position of a tenure–track Assistant or Associate Professor of Choral Activities in the Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music in the College of Performing Arts, beginning August 2025.

Qualifications

* A terminal degree is required. (DMA in Choral Conducting is preferred.)

* Teaching experience at the collegiate level is required.

* The department seeks a forward-thinking practitioner of the performing arts for the 21st century.

* The faculty colleague is expected to contribute meaningfully to consistent recruitment and retention efforts.

* A demonstrated track record of choral conducting and performing in academic and/or professional settings.

* Knowledge of standard choral repertoire, experience organizing collaborative concerts, and a forward-thinking approach to repertoire and configurations that expand the boundaries of the choral genre.

* A successful track record of program-building and recruitment of students from High School and Community College programs into undergraduate university programs.
