Description
The School of Music at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts seeks a voice teacher at the rank of Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) to join the Department of Voice. Preference is for a lower register voice, but all applications will be reviewed.
The successful candidate will possess a substantive performance profile at national and international levels, evidence of student/alumni success at the college level, teaching experience in voice performance courses such as song literature, special topics, or vocal pedagogy, and administrative and leadership experience within an academic environment. In addition, a successful applicant will enjoy working in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion. A terminal degree or demonstrated professional equivalent is required; previous teaching at the college level is required. This is a non-tenure track position.
The position requires vocal instruction of both male and female students in the undergraduate (BM) and graduate vocal performance programs (MM, DMA) as well as Departmental and Opera Institute Performance Diploma (PD). The successful candidate will show evidence of collegial and professional working relationships within voice/choral/opera realms and exhibit an aptitude for and interest in the potential for eventually chairing the Department of Voice.
