Description

The University of Virginia Department of Music seeks applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor in Piano. Responsibilities include developing a studio of undergraduate piano students, and other potential performance opportunities on a per-service basis.

Qualifications: Graduate degree in piano performance or pedagogy, or commensurate professional experience. Demonstrated excellence as a performer of solo and chamber music and substantial experience as a teacher, strong potential as a teacher of undergraduate students. Candidates should be comfortable teaching students of varying skill levels (music majors and non-majors) in a range of classical and modern techniques and repertoires. Compensation is per service for studio teaching; 2020-21 rate is $750 per student per semester of one-hour lessons. Appointment to begin immediately.
