A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING

AUDITION DATE:

Sunday, July 3, 1:00-5:00pm

Callbacks will be Sunday, July 3, 6:00-10:00pm

AUDITION LOCATION:

Little Theatre Dance Studio

9142 W Ken Caryl Ave, Littleton 80128

(Please do not call Little Theatre for audition info!)

PREPARE:

16-32 bars from a traditional non-contemporary musical of your choice.

Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. No taped music or a cappella allowed.

Be prepared to sing and read from the script and score at your audition

BRING:

Headshot, resume, music in a 3-ring binder

REHEARSALS:

Rehearsals will take place at Little Theatre

Rehearsals will begin July 16

Rehearsals will be Saturdays and Sundays 1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

There will also be one Friday night rehearsal on July 29, and one Monday night rehearsal on August 1.

TECH WEEK

Tech Week (Rehearsals) September 5-8, 6:00-10:00 p.m. at Lakewood Cultural Center

PERFORMANCES:

Performances are held at the Lakewood Cultural Center (Wadsworth & Alameda)

Friday, Sept. 9 – 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 10 – 2:00 pm & 7:30 pm

Sunday Sept. 11 – 2:00 pm

Friday, Sept. 16 – 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 17 – 2:00 pm & 7:30 pm

Sunday Sept. 18 – 2:00 pm

Friday, Sept. 23 – 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 24 – 2:00 pm & 7:30 pm

Sunday Sept. 25 – 2:00 pm

All actors will receive a $300 stipend.

Actors are expected to assist with strike after the final performance.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

1 Martin – Leading man, gorgeous baritone, great with harmonies. Solid, handsome,, classy. Robert Goulet-type.

2 Jason – Comic, Charming tenor, great with harmonies. Engaging, funny, sweet. Christian Borle-type.

3 Lynne – Ingenue, Classical Soprano, great with harmonies. The Queen of Ballads. Rebecca Luker-type.

4 Vicki – Plays a wide range of characters. Mezzo-Soprano. Great with harmonies. Goes from funny to serious, low to high. The most varied character. Kelli O’Hara-type

5 Alyson – Bold, brassy “torch song” singer. Alto. Great with harmonies. Liza Minelli-type.

SYNOPSIS - This musical revue showcases the music of Richard Rodgers and the lyrics of Oscar Hammerstein II. Featuring songs from such lesser-known works as Allegro, Me and Juliet, State Fair, and Pipe Dream, modest successes like Flower Drum Song, and hits like Carousel, Oklahoma!, The King and I, South Pacific, Cinderella and The Sound of Music.
