Description
The Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Northwest Missouri State University is seeking a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor in Music: Applied Voice and Music Literature (Antiquity through Renaissance). Applied instruction will be solely face-to-face, on the Maryville campus, 30 or 60 minutes each, with flexible scheduling and the potential for all to occur one day/week. Music Literature (Antiquity through Renaissance) is taught face-to-face in the fall semester Mondays/Wednesdays from 10:00-10:50 a.m. and via Zoom on Fridays from 10:00-10:50. The predicted load is 6-8 credit-hours (re-evaluated every semester), equating to lessons for approximately 10 students. Credit load is dependent on student enrollment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design and deliver quality instruction in the applied voice lessons setting (one-half hour or hour) and in Music Literature (Antiquity through Renaissance)
Collaborate with campus faculty and staff in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts.
Follow University expectations for assessment and reporting.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Earned Master’s degree in Music
Experience: Evidence of experience for successful studio and classroom teaching at the college level
Skills: Demonstrated innovative teaching methodologies to engage learners; instructional technology skills (Zoom, especially); interpersonal skills, including oral communication and collaboration; committed to a focus on student success
Teaching will begin August, 2021.
