The Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Northwest Missouri State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Voice, beginning August 2022. The primary responsibility of this faculty member is teaching applied voice in private and class settings. Other teaching duties will be assigned per department need and the candidate’s expertise. The successful candidate demonstrates a commitment to inclusive teaching practices that engage students from diverse backgrounds, has professional performance experience in various musical genres (i.e., classical, jazz, commercial, and musical theatre), and has a strong record of recruiting music majors and maintaining a studio of voice students at the collegiate level.
REQUIREMENTS:
Doctorate in Music (DMA, PhD, or equivalent) is required for Assistant Professor, tenure track. ABD considered if completed by August 2022.
Masters in Music/Voice eligible for one year term position.
Successful university teaching experience in Applied Voice and related coursework.
A consistent record of professional experience and visibility as a performer/scholar.
A strong record of recruiting music majors and maintaining a studio of voice students at the collegiate level.
