Description

The Townsend School of Music at Mercer University seeks a specialist in the area of vocal collaborative piano. Responsibilities will include providing collaborative piano and coaching to singers in support of their private study and performance activities on campus and on departmental/degree recitals, juries, auditions, and competitions as well as classes in applied collaborative piano and collaborative piano vocal literature. Additional duties may include collaboration with guest artists as well as teaching aural skills and accompanying select choral ensembles.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a music-related field from an accredited college/university is required. An earned doctorate in a related field is preferred.

The successful candidate must have: outstanding playing ability, musicianship, sight-reading, and musical collaboration skills; strong organizational skills; vocal coaching experience in Art Song and Opera; fluent knowledge of the standard vocal solo repertoire; ability to recruit students at the undergraduate and graduate level; success in teaching undergraduate aural skills; ability to work well with others.
