The Missouri Western State University, School of Fine Arts, Music seeks highly qualified candidates for an Instructor of Voice (1-year appointment). The successful candidate will have an extensive and successful background as a performer, collaborator, and teacher, will be able to work effectively with faculty colleagues, and will be able to recruit and inspire undergraduate students in a professionally oriented educational environment. Salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience. Missouri Western is an All Steinway School, since 2010.

Instructors teach in discipline areas in which he or she has specific training and competence. The instructor is expected to plan, organize, and teach in a manner that facilitates student learning in keeping with the learning-centered values and goals of the university.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in voice

Artist/teacher with a growing or established national/international reputation as a performer and demonstrated evidence of successful teaching and recruitment.

Interest in building partnerships across campus and with local schools and communities.

Appropriate scholarship including publications, conferences, presentations, and/or panels.

Ability to use instructional technologies in support of student learning and professional collaboration.

Ability to analyze data to inform teaching and program improvement.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
