Description
Mississippi State University seeks a collaborative, dynamic choral director with a proven national record of achievement to join the Department of Music Faculty (starting July 2024), in leading a large choral program of 200+ students across four choirs. The ideal candidate works closely with an Associate Director of Choral Activities and Choral Area Administrative Assistant, yet is expected to build bridges with 45+ faculty across the entire department.
The new tenure-track Director of Choral Activities is expected to bring an innovative and energetic perspective, a collaborative approach to rehearsals and performances, and a collegial spirit to department and university service. The successful candidate will also have a strong and clear research and/or creative agenda and will bring that dedication to our students at the undergraduate and graduate level. Minimum Qualifications:
D.M.A. or Ph.D. in Music or Music Education in combination with appropriate experience and/or credentials; ABD considered if graduating by August 2024.
