NDR Vokalensemble

Contract: temporary, free-lance per project

Requirements:

- a completed singing degree or comparable qualification

- experience as a chorus/ensemble member and as a soloist

- confident sight-singing

- a stylistically confident approach to repertoire from early music to contemporary works

- accent-free German when singing

- good knowledge of German and English, both spoken and written

Audition requirements:

- three-five pieces from different genres and eras

- mandatory pieces - do not have to be from memory

* solo

+ Mozart: Ach, ich fühl's (Die Zauberflöte)

+ Mozart: Exsultate, jubilate (entire cantata)

+ Schubert: Du bist die Ruh

Please bring two copies of the sheet music (copies) with you.

* chorus:

+ Schönberg: Peace on Earth, bar 32–89

+ Handel: Chorus “And he shall purify (Messiah)

You will receive the excerpts with the audition invitation.

* sight-singing:

During an audition, the ability to sight-sing is also tested. For this purpose, unknown passages from the choral literature will be given.

Application requirements:

- cover letter – please tell us in a short letter of motivation why you would like to work with the NDR Vokalensemble

- video (optional)

- audio (required)

* at most 3 audio files can be uploaded, at least 1 audio file is required. At least two recent recordings (not older than one year) of the following works:

- a German art song of free choice (mandatory)

- an oratorio work OR an opera aria of free choice (mandatory)

- other works of free choice (optional)
