Description
The Katherine Reese Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Augusta University seeks a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate applied voice, direct the AU Opera Ensemble; recruit students, and build and maintain a professional profile that reflects the career of a distinguished teacher/performer. The ideal candidate will have the potential for national distinction as a performer with experience singing on the concert and operatic stage. The faculty member will have the potential for or demonstrated successful experience teaching voice in a university setting; willingness to attract and retain quality undergraduate voice students. This position is considered on tenure track.
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) or equivalent professional experience is required.
Assistant Professor- Terminal degree (or nearing its completion), or its equivalent in training, ability, and/or experience.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
- Evidence of ability as a teacher;
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Soprano or Mezzo-Soprano preferred
