Description
Roosevelt University is accepting applications for an Artist-Teacher & Coordinator of Vocal Ensembles, CCPA.
This position entails the following responsibilities:
* Administrative oversight of the CCPA Vocal Ensemble Course, ENS 201, including syllabus construction, repertoire selection, and communications with students and support staff via Blackboard and email;
* Conducting the CCPA Vocal Ensemble, which rehearses for 1.5 hours on a semiweekly basis (Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:15PM–5:45PM);
* Organizing cyclical programming to appropriately integrate classical voice performance majors (housed within the CCPA Music Conservatory), music education students with a vocal emphasis (housed within the CCPA Interdisciplinary Conservatory), and musical theatre and acting majors (housed within the CCPA Theatre Conservatory), culminating in at least two performances/semester in the presentation of diverse repertoire representative of the enrolled student demographics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
* Vocal ensemble conducting experience
* Bachelor’s degree; significant teaching and/or performing experience will be considered in place of earned degrees.
* Documented record of consistent professional experience and visibility as a performer/conductor.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
