SUNY Oswego is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Music Theatre/Applied Voice.

The Assistant Professor of Music Theatre/Applied Voice will serve as musical director for yearly musical theatre mainstage collaboration; teach music theatre workshop; teach studio applied voice lessons and teach class voice. Additional teaching areas may include: basic music theory/history course, aural skills, vocal performance classes such as pedagogy, diction, and vocal literature, assistant director or director for choral groups, student advisement, or other tasks as department needs and skills/interest dictate.

Required Qualifications:

* Terminal degree in Vocal Performance, Vocal Pedagogy, or related degree based on description of responsibilities by time of appointment. * ABD considered, with expected terminal degree received August 15, 2023.

* Documented experience in musical theatre style and ability to serve as music director for productions.

* Demonstrated effective teaching skills including engagement of students, knowledge of voice, effective rehearsal techniques and appropriate repertoire selection.

* Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
