Based on Baz Luhrmann's legendary film MOULIN ROUGE!, Australian production company Global Creatures worked with book writer John Logan (Red, Skyfall) and music arranger Justin Levine over a ten-year period to develop the stage version of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

In July 2019, the production, directed by Alex Timbers and choreographed by Sonya Tayeh, celebrated its acclaimed and critically acclaimed world premiere on Broadway in New York. In October 2020, Moulin Rouge! The

Musical was nominated for 14 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Starting in fall 2022, Moulin Rouge! Das Musical will come to Germany exclusively for German-speaking countries as an en-suite production at a permanent venue. In addition to New York, London and Melbourne, Mehr-BB Entertainment will present the production in non-English for the first time.

For this production we are looking for outstanding singers and actors as well as athletic dancers with excellent technical expertise in several dance styles.

Satine is a star. Beautiful, glamorous, sexy, strong and dominant. She is very aware of her value. Strong sense of humor and smart...moreover, our heroine is full of humanity. You can tell she has suffered. Heart touching. An extraordinary singer.

High, strong belt. Sure mixvoice.

Christian

Male, 20-30 years old, any ethnicity welcome.

An attractive, young American. His easy and natural charm hides a special intensity and dynamism. Not naive, not completely innocent either. A passionate man with warm humor and deep secrets. An extraordinary singer. High pop tenor.

Henri Toulouse-Lautrec

Male, 30-40 years old, any ethnicity is welcome.

The famous French artist. He is a bold visionary, uncompromising in his attitude, while also contradictory an "unromantic romantic". Extremely charismatic and passionately eloquent.

A very good singer. Baritone.

Zidler

Male, 40-60 years old, any ethnicity is welcome. Host and landlord of the Moulin Rouge. He seems almost like a human caricature - exaggerated, magnificent and extroverted. His nature is cunning and ambiguous. He is wise, clever, cunning and venal. All in all: irresistible. A very good singer. Baritone.

Duke

Male, 30-40 years old, any ethnicity is welcome. A handsome, virile man. Trademarks: Wealth and power. Old French aristocracy coupled with modern attitude and taste. He has magnetism and is dangerously sexy. An extraordinary singer. Tenor.

Santiago

Male, in his 30s, BPoC (Latin American type). Santiago is an overly vivacious character and the best tango dancer in Paris and the biggest heartbreaker. He is a hot-blooded, swashbuckling Argentine, he lives for the extravagant torments of love. He is wild, dangerous and unpredictable, driven by his passionate emotions. An outstanding dancer, an extraordinary singer. Baritenor.

Nini

Female, in her 30s, any ethnicity is welcome. Lead dancer at the Moulin Rouge. Sharp, ambitious, sexy and cunning. Has all the qualities a star needs except cordiality. As tough and beautiful as a gemstone. An outstanding dancer, very good singer. Strong/high belt.

Baby Doll

Cis man, trans woman, non-binary, 20-30 years old, any ethnicity welcome.Dancer at Moulin Rouge. Beautiful young drag artist. Plays the role of country innocence inimitably, but has his heart in the right place. Baby Doll has experienced suffering and looks up to Satine.

High tenor with strong falsetto/mix.

La Chocolat

Female, 20-30 years old, BPoC (African or Caribbean type).Dancer at the Moulin Rouge. Lithe, untouchable, superior and commanding. Has seen it all. Do not fuck with her - I repeat - do not fuck with her! Strong Belt.

Arabia

Female, 20-30 years old, any ethnicity welcome. Lead dancer at the Moulin Rouge. Outlandishly distinctive. She's been through a lot. Glamorous-crumbling Amy Winehouse style. Strong Belt.

Dancers

20-30 years old, any ethnicity welcome. Looking for exceptional, expressive as well as athletic dancers* with excellent technique. Vocal ability an advantage.

Ensemble/Swings

Male, female, diverse, 20-30 years old, any ethnicity welcome. Seeking exceptional, expressive as well as athletic dancers*, singers* and actors* with excellent technique to take on above roles and ensemble tracks.
