Boston Choral Ensemble Audition
Description
Seeking an Artistic Director.
Commitment:
3-4 concert programs/year
Weekly 3-hour rehearsals on Tuesday evenings between September and June
Monthly Board meetings
Ongoing programming, preparation, and administration (year-round)
Compensation: $7,000-$10,000/year, depending on experience and skills
What is the application process?
Resume + Narrative: Please submit your resume and an introduction to who you are and why you’re applying. This introduction can be a written cover letter or a video introducing yourself—choose whatever modality you feel will best introduce you to us.
Interviews: Selected candidates will be asked to submit supplemental materials (e.g., conducting videos, proposed repertoire) and to interview virtually with the AD Search committee.
Auditions: A subset of candidates will be invited to audition in-person with the AD Search Committee and BCE singers. You will lead warm-ups, rehearse a section of a piece, and have a short conversation with the group.
References: The AD search Committee will conduct reference checks for the final candidates before making a job offer.
We will review applications on a rolling basis, with priority given to those received before August 31. Ideally, our new Artistic Director will start by early 2022, but our timeline is flexible.
