Audition: June 23, 2023

The day of audition will be divided in three different parts: one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening.

Round 1:

1. opera aria in original version and language preferably by the following composers: Bellini, Berlioz, Donizetti, Gounod, Massenet, Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Weber

2. chorus excerpt

3. Rossini’s Vocalise

Round 2:

1. chorus excerpt

* from Bach’s Jesu, meine Freude (see website)

* from Rossini‘s Stabat Mater (see website)

2. sight-singing

The candidate will have 5 minutes to prepare this test.

Round 3:

1. Rehearsal with the choir: working with the women’s section and then with the whole alto choir, under the musical direction of the choir master for the following excerpts: *from Ravel’s Nicolette (see website)

*from Britten’s The Ballad of Green Broom” (see website), *from Norman Luboff’s “Dream a little dream of me” (see website)

2. Interview with the jury
