Description
The Department of Music at Smith College invites applications for a three-year, non-tenure track Core Lecturer position in Vocal Performance Studies, to begin July 1, 2022. We seek an active performer with experience teaching studio voice in a variety of vocal styles, from classical to contemporary, including popular music. From both interpretive and technical perspectives, candidates must demonstrate a successful record of teaching students with a wide range of abilities and interests. The responsibilities of this position include teaching weekly lessons to 18 voice students each semester, coordinating voice studios with other performance instructors, performing with colleagues as part of the artistic programming of the department, and contributing to the administration of the department and the college through committee service and other activities. This non-tenure track faculty position is renewable every three years, subject to the needs of the College and job performance reviews. A Master's degree in Music, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in Music are encouraged to apply.
