Description
The South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Music in Applied Voice. The nine month position is available for August 2021 as Professional Path, with potential for Tenure Track appointment. Anderson University is a comprehensive, liberal arts institution affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Expectations include gifted teaching, dynamic musical leadership, setting ambitious goals for students, and recruiting vocal music students. Specific responsibilities include instructor of applied voice students and director of the Opera Workshop. The position includes additional graduate and undergraduate teaching responsibilities as determined by qualifications, institutional needs, and preference.
Qualifications: Significant professional experience in vocal performance and expertise in vocal pedagogy within diverse genres of classical music, contemporary commercial music, musical theatre and worship music. Candidates should demonstrate strong musicianship and a successful record of teaching at the collegiate level. A doctorate or nearly completed doctoral degree in music is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate the servanthood and collegiality necessary to build a vibrant voice studio within the South Carolina School of the Arts.
