The Conservatory for the Performing Arts at Stephens College invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time position, to begin in Fall 2022, to teach in the 3-year, 2-summer Musical Theatre BFA program.

Faculty rank for this position is open and will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Teaching undergraduate courses in Private Voice, Music Theory and Sight-Singing. Experience in Musical Direction is required.

2. Musical Directing one main stage production per semester.

3. Student advising

4. Participating in college service

5. Applicants will also have the opportunity to participate in summer programs for Stephens College, including but not limited to the Okoboji Summer Theatre.

Candidates must have demonstrated excellence in teaching, as well as strong professional expertise in his/her/their field, Strong knowledge of Contemporary and Traditional Musical Theatre styles and repertoire, as well as a strong Pop/Rock sensibility is desired. Knowledge of current industry standards is desired.

Required qualifications:

· MFA, DMA, DM or PhD in Voice, Music, or related field

· Strong accompanist and sight-reading skills

· Significant professional experience in Musical Theatre as a performer and/or musical director

· Demonstrated teaching excellence at a college/university level
