Oriana Consort

The Oriana Consort seeks experienced singers in all voice parts! Auditions will be held by appointment in February 2022. To schedule a half-hour audition in Cambridge, please email Walter Chapin at director@orianaconsort.org, noting your voice part and summarizing your choral and solo experience. You’ll join a quartet of Oriana members to read excerpts from our recent repertory and to sing a brief but difficult choral part that we will provide in advance. Please bring a solo that shows off your voice at its best: your choice of length, genre, and level of difficulty.

Spring 2022 performances will tentatively include J.S. Bach’s cantata Christ lag in Todesbanden; Edward Elgar’s Nimrod, as arranged by John Cameron for choral voices on the text of Lux aeterna; and works by Michael Barrett & Ralf Schmitt, Abbie Betinis, Charlotte Bray, Shawn Kirchner, Kelvyn Koning, Claudio Monteverdi, and Xingzimin Pan — choral music from four continents and diverse cultures.

Sunday rehearsals (usually in the evening) at University Lutheran Church, Cambridge, begin February 13, 2022.
