Description
Edward Waters University (EWU) in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Concert Choir Director to provide leadership, instruction, and direction to a campus-based choir. As an African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church-affiliated institution, EWU has a strong Christian tradition rooted in high moral and spiritual values. As stated in the University Mission,

The Concert Choir Director will serve as the choral leader of the Edward Waters University Concert Choir, a role which includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities: weekly rehearsals; worship services, and/or performances; and providing a guiding and mentoring presence to the choir.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master’s degree in Music or related discipline with at least 18 graduate semester hours in music;
· Minimum of two years of professional or paraprofessional experience directing a choir;
· Experience working as part of a team, working with college-aged students and programs, and working in multiple traditions or denominations;
· Successful experience instructing/conducting Choir/Vocal performance groups;
· Ability to work effectively with adults and teens;
· Ability to effectively direct vocal and choral performance;
· Ability to act as an accompanist if needed;
· Ability to effectively network with public and community members;
