BERKELEY PLAYHOUSE is accepting NON-UNION submissions for its 2022-2023 Mainstage Season production of IN THE HEIGHTS , conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Directed by Melissa Martinez, with Vocal Direction by Nicolas Perez and Choreography by Staci Arriaga.

Casting the following roles:

DANIELA–owner of Daniela’s Salon, Latina, Vocal Range F3-F5

CARLA–works at the Salon, Latina, Vocal Range F3-F5

ENSEMBLE--We are seeking to re-create the diverse and vibrant world that makes up the Washington Heights neighborhood, prioritizing members of the Latine Community. Seeking actors of all ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, gender identifications, and body types. Must be excellent dancer / singers (hip-hop and salsa).

Berkeley Playhouse is a community based, non-profit organization producing high quality musical theater. Non-union performers are issued a Volunteer Performer Agreement with a reimbursement to assist in covering travel costs and meals. Berkeley Playhouse is deeply invested in reflecting our diverse community on stage, Actors of all gender expressions, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and body types encouraged to submit.

In the body of the email please include a specific list of roles for which you'd like to be considered. Non-local actors with local housing are welcome to submit.
