The Ron McNicol Award

The 2022 Ron McNicol Award application are now available.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

• Candidates must be current (financial) members of The Musical Society

• TWO songs of contrasting style to be selected from the areas of:

Musical Comedy/Light Opera; ;Folk Song; Art Song/Lied; Ballad

• Accompaniment is to be Piano only

• The recital must not exceed 15 minutes

• If there are too few entries, the award may be cancelled;

• The Adjudicator’s decision is final

• The Adjudicator or the Board of the MSV have the right to withhold the award.

• Prize winners unable to perform in the concert will forfeit the prize money

• In accordance with copyright laws, all finalists in the concert must play from original music;

• A copy of the music must be provided for the adjudicator; photocopies will not be returned

• Current students or close relatives of the adjudicator are not eligible to enter.

ENTRY FEE: $20 (+ $1 postage for report)

OFFICIAL ACCOMPANIST’S FEE: $15

CLOSING DATE for ENTRIES: July 8th
