Description

The NASM accredited Department of Music at Bradley University seeks a highly qualified, dynamic, and musically versatile individual for the position of Assistant Professor of Voice. The successful candidate should be able to teach a full range of vocal techniques, including classical, musical theater, and commercial styles. Teaching assignments will include Applied Voice and other vocal pedagogy courses, Opera Workshop, Commercial Vocal Ensemble, and other assignments as appropriate. This is a full-time tenure-track position beginning August of 2022.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Teach Applied Voice and other vocal pedagogy courses, Opera Workshop, Commercial Vocal Ensemble, and other assignments as appropriate.

Recruit and retain students locally and regionally.

Serve as an advisor and mentor to students.

Engage in scholarly research and creative production that is disseminated to appropriate regional, national, and international venues beyond the University.

Engage in meaningful and useful service that promotes department, college and university strategic goals and priorities, commensurate to rank.

Develop and maintain strong links with music alumni and professional organizations.

Qualifications:

An appropriate terminal degree is required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. ABD Candidates will be considered, but appointment to tenure-track Assistant Professor requires a completed terminal degree.

The ability to teach classical, musical theater, and commercial vocal styles.

Teaching experience in a collegiate environment

Superior musical and interpersonal skills
