Description
The Department of Music seeks applicants for a tenure-track Director of Choral Activities beginning August 2024 at the rank of assistant professor. Applicants must have a terminal degree in a relevant field at the start of the position.
The successful candidate will offer courses in Chorale (large vocal ensemble), Chamber Singers (select vocal ensemble), Applied Voice, and a rotation between Music in Society (music introduction for non-majors) and a specialty elective (with preference towards a course that enhances and diversifies our curriculum), as well as courses that contribute to the College’s general education requirements. The Director of Choral Activities oversees the Applied Voice Area. The ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate depth of expertise both on the podium and in the academic classroom. The standard annual teaching load is five courses.

Conducting footage should include rehearsal footage (approx. 10’) and performance footage (approx. 20’) shot from the perspective of the musician along with a brief description. The committee will solicit three letters of recommendation from applicants who reach the interview stage.
