Finnish National Opera

Finnish National Opera and Ballet is Looking for a 2nd Alto Singer for permanent employment relationship from 1 August 2023 or according to agreement.

You work as an opera singer in the vocal department of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet. Your tasks mainly include chorus tasks and, depending on the needs of the repertoire, possible soloist and assistant tasks. The job description also includes performing at audience outreach events. We offer you an interesting and challenging job in a unique work community. Working languages are Finnish and English.

Salary and working conditions are determined according to the collective agreement for opera singers of the Finnish National Opera.

We ask you to submit your application, inform your audition arias with a link to a video of a maximum length of four (4) minutes to the electronic recruitment system on the website of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet (www.oopperabaletti.fi) no later than Friday, March 31, 2023. In the video, you must perform an opera aria from alto repertoire of your choice with piano accompaniment without recitative. The video must be filmed with one camera in front of the singer, so that the singer is completely visible on the screen the whole time. Post-processing of sound and image is prohibited.

After the video audition, we will invite some of the applicants to a live audition, which will be held at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet on April 19, 2023. It is possible to use the Opera's pianist or your own pianist for the audition.
