Chico Theater Company

A new adaptation of Camelot is coming to Chico Theater Company! Like the original, it’s a cautionary tale but this story is told without tights or pointy hats. It celebrates the full score on an intimate scale with half the characters. The streamlined book focuses on the Arthur-Guinevere-Lancelot triangle by keeping Dinadan, Sagramore, Lionel, Mordred and Tom. That’s it. Seven men and one woman (pre-cast).

As part of a small cast, each performer will have a higher stake in storytelling. Actors will be challenged outside the usual box with narration, ritual dance and other medieval story-telling conventions.

There will be an informal audition Monday, September 27th at 6pm at CTC. Please prepare a few bars of sheet music that shows off your voice. No further preparation is necessary.
